YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US

You provide important information about yourself to a variety of businesses and organizations.  The same is true when you do business with our financial institution.  You’re asked to provide us with certain personal information that helps us give you better service and complete your transactions more effectively.

Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.  Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.  Hereafter, we will use the term “information” to mean nonpublic personal information as defined in this section.  

An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us.  Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.  

A nonaffiliated third party is a person we do not employ or a company that is not an affiliate of ours.  This is also known as nonaffiliated third party, or simply, an “other party.”

Internet Banking

To provide better service and a more effective Web site, we may use "cookies" as part of our interaction with our customer's browsers. A "cookie" is a small text file placed on our customer's hard drive by our Web Page Server. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from a hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture an e-mail address. Cookies are commonly used on Web sites and do not harm our customers' system. We use cookies in places where our customers need to register, such as Internet banking, or where our customers are able to customize the information they see. Recording a cookie at such points makes the online experience easier and more personalized. These cookies do not collect personally identifiable information and we do not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information to determine who our customers are or an e-mail address.

U.S. Patriot Act

Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.

First State Bank and Trust would like to advise our customers and friends not to send confidential information such as bank account numbers or social security numbers when you email. First State Bank and Trust emailing is not secure so please take care regarding the information that you email to us.
